Uses in the North Sea and Baltic Sea, such as shipping, offshore wind energy, transmission infrastructure for the supply of electricity, natural gas or data, defence, fisheries, scientific research, raw material extraction and environmental protection and nature conservation functions, are competing more than ever for limited space. Innovative concepts for multiple use offer the opportunity to create synergies and reduce conflicts of use.
In order to analyse the prospects for multiple use of areas, a consortium consisting of s.Pro, Ramboll Germany and the R&D Centre at Kiel University of Applied Sciences has prepared a report on behalf of the Federal Ministry of Housing, Urban Development and Construction (BMWSB) in 2024-2025.
