  • Uncategorised

On the 17th of June 2020, the German Federal Maritime and Hydrographic Agency (BSH) held the first hearing to determine the suitability of possible offshore wind sites. During this meeting, the results of investigations and assessments of the effects of offshore wind energy on the environment, transportation sector and other uses and interests were discussed with authorities, associations and interested companies. The hearing took place as an online meeting. BSH will examine the suitability with consideration of the results of the consultation. In case of a positive result, the suitability will be declared by statutory order. On this basis, the German Federal Network Agency plans to publish the first call for tenders for sites specified in the site development plan for the construction of offshore wind turbines starting on 1 March 2021.
