On the 6th November 2019, the Federal Maritime and Hydrographic Agency (BSH) organized an international shipping workshop with participants from Belgium, the Netherlands, Germany and Denmark. During this workshop, transnational shipping traffic from the English Channel to the Baltic Sea was discussed. After an initial meeting in April 2019 on shipping, this second workshop discussed how best to adapt transit shipping routes. For all countries, this is currently an important issue during the preparation or revision of spatial plans in order to develop transnationally coherent plans. The participants of the workshop agreed to closely coordinate subsequent spatial planning. A further workshop is planned for early 2020.
