On July 17, 2026, the Dutch Ministry of Climate Policy sent Germany the draft site decision and the environmental impact assessment for the Nederwiek I-B wind farm in the Dutch Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ) of the North Sea. This environmental impact assessment pertains exclusively to Plot I-B in the southern part of the Nederwiek wind energy area. It examines the environmental impacts during the construction, operation, and decommissioning of the wind farm. Nederwiek is located in the Dutch EEZ, approximately 95–100 km off the Dutch coast. The southern part of Nederwiek covers approximately 273 km². Two wind farm areas, each with a capacity of approximately 1 GW, are planned there. Block I-B covers approximately 69 km².
Information about the planned project can be found from 28 August 2026 to 26 September 2026 on the Application and Participation Portal for Transport and Offshore Projects and on the BSH website at www.bsh.de.
