Initiation of the central preliminary site investigations for wind farms in the German Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ) of the North Sea and Publication of the draft investigation framework for investigation area N-16 East

Today, on 28 May 2026, the BSH publicly announced the initiation of the preliminary site investigations in investigation area N-16 East in the exclusive economic zone of the North Sea for offshore wind farms. The tendering process by the Federal Network Agency will start in 2030 at earliest. Comments on the draft investigation framework can be submitted until 29 June 2026.
