transboundary participation according to Section 59 para. 1 Environmental Impact Assessment Act on the transboundary environmental impact assessment for a planned offshore windfarm “Pleione” in Sweden´s exclusive economic zone of the Baltic Sea

The Swedish EnvironmentalProtection Agency notified Germany that Pleione Energiepark AB is planning to issue an application for a permit for the construction and operation of the “Pleione” energy park (wind turbines and hydrogen plants) in the Swedish economic zone of the Baltic Sea. The planned “Pleione” energy park is located approx. 37 km east of the island of Gotland. The total planned project area of Pleione covers approximately 194 km2. The energy park will consist of around 42-70 wind turbines and hydrogen plants on special platforms or on the foundations of the wind turbines. The project also includes associated equipment such as substations and submarine cables. The maximum total height of the wind turbines is expected to be up to 370 meters.
