After the Maritime Spatial Plan 2021 for the German EEZ of the North Sea and Baltic Sea came into force on 01.09.2021 after extensive participation of authorities and the public, a spatial basis for the further expansion of offshore wind energy in the EEZ is now available. On this basis, further sites for the expansion of offshore wind energy are to be defined within the framework of an amendment and update of the Site Development Plan.
The initiation of the procedure was publicly announced on 17.12.2021. At the same time, a preliminary draft for the Site Development Plan and a draft of the scope for the environmental report (North Sea and Baltic Sea) within the strategic environmental assessment to be carried out in the procedure were published on the BSH website.
With the announcement, the opportunity to comment on the draft documents is given and an invitation to a hearing (online conference) was issued for Wednesday 26.01.2022.
