On the 15th of September 2020, the German Federal Maritime and Hydrographic Agency (BSH) invited to the 9th meeting of the Scientific Advisory Board for the revision of the maritime spatial plans for the German Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ). The meeting was organized as an online session. Participants of the Advisory Board came from the University of Hamburg, the Technical University of Berlin, the Leibniz Institut für ökologische Raumentwicklung (ecological spatial development), the Institut für Küstenforschung des Helmholtz-Zentrum Geesthacht (coastal research) and the Thünen Institut für Seefischerei (fisheries research).
In the focus of the discussion between the Advisory Board and members from BSH and the Federal Ministry of the Interior, Building and Community (BMI) was the advanced preparation of the spatial and textual designations of the draft maritime spatial plan.
