The Federal Maritime and Hydrographic Agency (BSH) conducted a meeting on the draft of the concept for the revision of the maritime spatial plans in the German Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ) of the North Sea and the Baltic Sea on the 23rd of April 2020. This meeting allowed the participants from the countries bordering the North Sea and the Baltic Sea to get involved and make suggestions at an early stage of the revision process. This event was held as an online meeting, due to the current situation with the Corona pandemic.
At this meeting, BSH presented and discussed the concept for the revision of the maritime spatial plans. After a brief introduction into the planning process, three planning options with different perspectives were presented. The spatial and textual designations for the different sectors in the three planning options were explained, and then discussed with the participants. All documents were published on the BSH website prior the meeting and all stakeholders had the opportunity to submit a statement.
BSH would like to thank all participants for the helpful discussions, suggestions and comments.
