Expert discussion on national and Alliance defense, 11 November 2019, Kiel

On the 11^th November 2019, the Federal Maritime and Hydrographic Agency (BSH) held an expert discussion on the topic national and Alliance defense at the Federal Office for Infrastructure, Environmental Protection and Bundeswehr Services in Kiel. Representatives of the Bundeswehr from Kiel and Rostock were invited. During the meeting the concerns of the sector were discussed for consideration in the ongoing plan revision process. The possibilities to sufficiently integrate defence concerns in the revision process were discussed. A key demand of the Bundeswehr was the unrestricted use of the military training areas already shown in the maritime spatial plans of 2009. The representatives of the Bundeswehr announced that concrete proposals for the joint use of offshore wind farms for military installations would be submitted in the further proceedings.
