Announcement on transboundary participation according to Section 59 para. 1 Environmental Impact Assessment Act for the offshore wind farm (Site I) in the Doordewind wind energy area in the Dutch Exclusive Economic Zone of the North Sea

  • General

On December 23, 2024, the Dutch Ministry of Climate Policy sent Germany the draft memorandum on scope and level of detail of the environmental impact assessment for the “Doordewind” wind energy area in the Dutch Exclusive Economic Zone of the North Sea. The planned wind energy zone borders the German EEZ. The area is located about 85 km northwest of the dutch Wadden Island Ameland. If the area will be divided is not yet known, but the area has been provisionally determined to be approx. 200 k m2. One or two wind farms with a maximum nominal capacity of 2.3 GW are planned in the wind energy area.

Information about the planned project can be found from 24.01.2025 to 4.3.2025 on the BSH website at www.bsh.de (Announcements)
