The Ministry of the Environment of the Republic of Lithuania has sent the notification and plans of the Lithuanian project promoter JSC “Ignitis renewables” for the construction and operation of a windfarm with up to 55 wind turbines in the northern part of the Lithuania´s Exclusive Economic Zone in the Baltic Sea. The project area is located approximately 36.8 km from the coast of Lithuania. Furthermore, the distance of the planned project is approximately 0.9 km from the Latvian EEZ and 69 km from the Swedish EEZ. The expected cross-border impacts will be examined in detail as part of the environmental impact assessment. The offshore wind farm is expected to generate a capacity of 1100W.
